From January 1st 2019, these new changes to our terms will apply:
19. Automatic Listing Upload. Unless Licensee opts out of this function, where a free property listing is entered into MyDesktop, that listing will be automatically uploaded onto domain.com.au
What does this mean for me?
When you go to list a property inside MyDesktop, we’ll check to see if the listing cost would be $0.00 on Domain. If it is, we’ll automatically tick the Domain box for that listing to be sent to domain.com.au.
If you don’t want this to happen, just un-check the Domain box to prevent that listing from being sent to domain.com.au.
If you have a paid Domain subscription*, there’ll be no change to the way we handle your domain.com.au listings.
Why the change?
We’re always looking for ways to help you maximise your listing visibility. Automatically uploading your free listings to Domain will give you more exposure while giving Domain visitors a better chance of finding properties they love.
Will this impact other portals?
Nope, this functionality only applies to domain.com.au.
What’s the catch?
There isn’t one. We’ll only automatically send the listing to Domain if it’s going to be free, and only at the time of listing.
I don’t use the Domain portal, will my listings be sent to Domain?
No, if you do not have the Domain portal enabled for your office this change will not impact you.
Will “Off-market”, and “Not currently listed”, or “Internal Marketing” properties also be sent?
No. Properties will only be considered at the point of listing, and only if they are being sent to public portals.
*Some agents will have different subscriptions for different listing types (e.g. sales vs. rental). In this instance they will be considered independently.
